We conquered the Grouse Grind today and we are all still smiling. I am very proud of all who hiked, and you should be proud of yourself as well. The weather was just perfect! Leave a comment about your experience hiking today. Who did you hike with? Did you beat your time from the beginning of the year? If you have a story or event to share, write about it here!
Your Poverty projects look great. Everyone looked really involved as they read through everyone else's projects. Leave a comment: What did you learn from the other projects? Was there anything you noticed about another project that you wish you had done too? What are you most proud of in your project? What would you change for another time?
Today in the Novel Approach you did your 'Book Talks'. There were some really interesting discussions going on. Tomorrow you will listen to your video recording of your 'Book Talk', and add to/complete all of the 'What I learned from others' section of your booklet. Leave a comment: How did your group's Book Talk go? Did everyone contribute? Did you learn anything interesting from others? Did you share something that was really meaningful to you? Please ask your parents if they are available to come on the Grouse Grind with us. We need drivers! (Plus, it is always nice to have your parents along).

The grade sevens did a great job of presenting their speeches today. All of you must be relieved to have that stress over with! Leave a comment: How do you feel the speeches went today? Which was your favourite? Explain. Everyone leave a positive note of appreciation to the sevens. The grade sixes all did a great job of presenting their speeches today. I bet some of you sixes are relieved to have that over with! It is interesting that a couple of you cried afterwards. That is a natural human reaction to stress relief, so you are normal. Grade sevens, we are looking forward to listening to your speeches tomorrow. I'm sure you will do just as well as the sixes. I wish you all (both grades) a good night's rest. Leave a comment: How do you feel the speeches went today? Which was your favourite? Explain. If you are a six, leave a positive note of encouragement to the sevens for tomorrow, and if you are a seven leave a positive note of appreciation to the sixes. Homework:

Homework: Please dedicate a good part of your weekend to memorizing your speech. Remember, it isn't a speech unless it is memorized. From the speeches I was able to listen to on Thursday, it sounds like the speeches are great! I can't wait to hear them all. For those of you that are nervous, remember that we are all on the same side. You WILL be successful if you put in the time. (P.S. I love this colour of font! Squirrel.)
