Leave a comment: How did your group's Book Talk go? Did everyone contribute? Did you learn anything interesting from others? Did you share something that was really meaningful to you?
Today in the Novel Approach you did your 'Book Talks'. There were some really interesting discussions going on. Tomorrow you will listen to your video recording of your 'Book Talk', and add to/complete all of the 'What I learned from others' section of your booklet. Leave a comment: How did your group's Book Talk go? Did everyone contribute? Did you learn anything interesting from others? Did you share something that was really meaningful to you? Please ask your parents if they are available to come on the Grouse Grind with us. We need drivers! (Plus, it is always nice to have your parents along).

My groups book talk went good. I guess that everyone contributed, but somepeople talked a little to little and some people talked just a tiny little bit too much. I learned some intresting things from others. I was a little surprised at times, because some people had some intresting things to say, that made me rethink my own thinking a little bit.I did not share something that was really meaningful to me, but I DID share "Go big or go home!" And I like that saying A LOT! And I also shared "Money can't buy happiness." I had a good time doing our book conversations, because I was in a group with a few new people that I got to the book conversations with, and I think that it was a good chance for us to build up our communicating skill's. Bye everyone! See you all tomorrow!

I think that my group had some even contributions. I learned that the others almost had the same explanation but just a bit more evidence. So I need to improve my evidence on my explanations. I had a decent amount of connections. Each connection lead to more connections. My Dad can take me and 4 others for the Grouse Grind. See you all tomorrow.

I thin that our group talk did amazing! We all said good things that lead us to new topics about the book which we could discuss about. We all said some connections and used some background knowledge to relate to the character of the book. I learned a lot of interesting things which I didn't even think about in the book. I didn't really share anything meaningful just some random thoughts that I had about it. It was cool how we just sat there and talked about our thoughts and feelings it was fun to share out loud. Bye!!!!!!!

I think our book talk was okay and I contributed a little, but I didn't really know what to say. I learned some interesting things that I would have never thought of. I didn't have anything that was meaningful to me that I got from the book.

Hi! My groups book talk went well! Yes, everyone contributed! I did learn a few things. Our group thought a lot of the same things! But I did hear a lot of great connections! The funny thing is that, I couldn't do hand gestures when I wanted to because I was holding the i-Pad! When someone in our group had a connection they shared it then after that someone else had a connection, and it went on and on and on till we moved on to a new question. I didn't share anything meaningful to me. I can't wait for the grouse grind on Thursday! Well, see y'all tomorrow! Bye for now...

Hi! I think the book talk went great! Yes, I learnt some interesting things from the others. Yes, I did share something meaningful to me. The thing I shared was people can be happy with getting rubies, diamonds, gold etc. but it is nice to get other things as well. Like pretend you are a princess ,or prince and every single birthday you get the same thing then finally you hear this awesome story that you really like ,would you have liked it? Well, to me it depends on what the situation was like f I were to get the same thing every single birthday I would be really happy to hear this. But if I got these really nice gifts that I liked I would not have been so happy and that's what surprised me about the princess (those of you who read the book 'Clever Jack Takes The Cake' will get this). Bye see you guys tomorrow!

I thought the book talk was ok. Some people were talking a lot more than others. I learned lots from others such as the big idea. I didn't say a really meaningful response but I used some background knowledge.

My book talk was really good. Our group did it for about 45 min and we had a lot of information. We went of topic a little but it was about the pictures and things we didn't notice and then asked a lot of questions about it. We all said all we wanted to say. There are a lot of things I learned. I can't do the grouse grind survey what ever I need to use it says I can't with out permission from myself and I will get an email but then I don't get the email. See you all tomorrow bye!

I found my group's book talk went really good! Everyone contributed, but some needed to contribute a little more. I learned that most of the time, someone will have a similar opinion to yours, and I can't remember some exact things, because our conversation went a very long time. Most of the other people had good comments, and voiced their opinion. We did share lots of things, but I didn't find there was any deep, emotional, connections to make with the story, but some of us shared connections and stories that reminded us of parts in the story.

Hi the book talk went well. All people contributed but some people barely talked and some people talked too much. I learned a lot from others and it was really fun but we took almost an hour to do it so it took a long time. Well I told a couple of stories like one about this really nice ring I lost at water polo that my grandma gave to my mum and my mum gave to me.... I was extremely sad about the ring and my mum was too.

I thought our book talk was really good. Everyone was saying something, and there were some connections to the story. Our talk Lasted fifty-six minutes and twenty-two seconds. It was also kinda hurting my hands holding the ipad for that long.

Hi our book talk turned out pretty good. At the start we didn't quite get it but at the end I think we did. Some people said a lot and had a lot of things to add and some people didn't say much but what they said had a lot of meaning words the book (I don't know if that made sense). I learned a lot from fluffykittens because she had ideas that made us think. I think we all had different things to say for each question and it made me think a lot.

Our groups conversation was very detailed and overall very good. We kind of strayed off target a couple of times but overall it was a very good talk. I learned some of the other ways that people think like unicornperson thought of some interesting things like that the old man was teaching her imagination tactics. Soccermaster had some good ideas but they were very relevant to the other peoples. I shared that seeing isn't believing and It brought the topic of some deep thinking.

I learned a lot from other about the book. My parents can't get the day off for Thursday so i get drive. I learned that the cucuise ship owner is very demanding I think he did not care about the animals all he really cared about was the money he was getting and when the were over due he did not listen to the mr Paine to drop the hook and wait for the storm to pass instead he said keep going were late.

Our book talk went great! Yes everyone In our group contributed with the conversation. I learned that everyone thought different things about the story and they had a reason so that switched my thinking a lot. I didn't really learn interesting things from my peers either than their connections. I did not share something meaning full to me but I did share some pretty cool connections in the book conversation.

My group did quite good because some people went off track and started to talk about something that didn't matter in the book. But over all my group thought deeper into each question and everyone contributed and I thought it went well. I learn that if your the odd man out later you'll be number one to the people around you. I share some connections to the book and those were quite meaningful to me, so does that count. I'm pretty sure that my group went 9 or so minutes, then we thought that we can go deeper so are book talk went for 9 mins to 27 mins, we added a lot, I'll See you all Today/Wednesday. B-)

The "talk", I think it was pretty good. I'm sad to say I didn't talk as much as the others but there isn't anything I can do about it now. I also thought the people in my group had good theory's.
