Comment: We watched "Jump Rope for Heart: Skipping Team" in the assembly this afternoon. What skill and talent these students have with just a skipping rope. Watch the video again. Pay close attention to the moves. What moves/tricks did you find amazing? Which move/trick do you think you could try and be successful at? Break that move down into smaller parts and it will be possible if you practice at it.

1. Is there anything on the book order that looks interesting to you? Are there any books that you would recommend your peers read? 2. Are you excited about your Current Events topic? Explain. 3. In one sentence, briefly tell about your 100 Word Challenge story. We played some super spectacular Valentine games: using straws to make heart shapes out of conversation hearts, shooting Cupid's arrow down the hallway, 'and Cupid' bingo.Leave a comment:
1. What was your favourite part of the day? Explain. 2. Out of all of the Book Commercials since the beginning of January, who's was your favourite? Why? 3. Without mentioning names, what are some of the things in the Book Commercials that did not go so well e.g. some people said 'like' repeatedly. We've got heart!
Reminders: *Party tomorrow. Bring your Valentine cards, and anything you may have volunteered to bring. *Sell P.A.C. raffle tickets and return the booklet and money. Homework: Language Arts: Book Commercial - last day tomorrow. No B.C., no party! *Grade 6 - Memorize 'It Couldn't Be Done', due Monday. Math: Grade 6 - none Grade 7 - Sheet 3.7 If you've read this website carefully...whisper your favourite colour into Mrs. Van's ear in the morning as you come in to class. No website comment needed. First you had to solve the puzzle of who is in your new group, then... desk change!
Comment: You all made great progress on your soapstone today. What tool or technique really helped you with your animal today? What challenges did you face today? What was easier or difficult this time? What will you focus on next carving session?
Watch the video clip below about a little Surrey girl who gets hearing aids, and hears for the first time. In 'Wonder' today, Auggie gets the hearing aids he has been dreading. In the end of the chapter he says, "Now that I look back, I don't know why I was so stressed about it all this time. Funny how sometimes you worry a lot about something and it turns out to be nothing." Leave a comment: Have you ever worried about something that turned out to be nothing much? What was it? Why were you worried? How did it turn out in the end?
