Today I tried pressing my pencil crayons harder so the colours stand out more. Usually when blending I press my pencil crayons lightly, but I tried pressing harder and the result was very different and better than usual. I learned that certain colours work really well together. The blended combination of orange and yellow looks so pretty, and I never really realized that before. I also learned how to draw a leaf that looks less like a star and more like a leaf. For the bake sale, I am making candy cane cookies. You make dough, divide it in half, fill one half with red food colouring, take one long strip from each side and weave them tightly together to make a candy cane shape. I'm really looking forward to baking my cookies, because I've never really baked before and I think it will be a really fun experience. Okay, bye!

Everything was new for the art, because I never did it before. (It's my first time doing it.) Also I learned that I can shade with colour pencils too, not only with paints.

I tried to shade until there is no background color in my leaf. I learned how to blend pencil crayon color. I didn't get it first but soon I knew how to do it.

Today I tried putting the lighter colours before the darker colors. When I did that it made the colour stand out more then if I had put the darker colours first which made the over all colour look better. Today I learned how to blend to colours that are similar to each other to make the colour change slightly to make the colour graguly get lighter rather then some dark then light .

Something new I did for today's art lesson was figuring out which parts of my leaf were darker and lighter by experimenting with the colours and blending methods. I learned that it takes time to blend everything nicely together. I'm planning to make melted snowmen cookies for the bake sale next week using a marshmallow as the snowman's head and frosting the cookies to look like a puddles. Bye!

I tried shading from really dark colors to light colors which I never really do, I found out that it actually looks pretty good. If you use a white pencil crayon to blend it all together it turns out better. I am planning to make vanilla cupcakes, I'm not exactly sure yet but I think I might be doing a winter wonderland theme on them, or I might just decorate them all different themes and designs!

I had never tried blending colours like today. Everything I did was new to me. I learned a lot but I liked when the video showed to use a lot of different shades. I also learned that white acts like a colourless blender. Bye!

Something new I tried during our art lesson toady was starting with my lightest and brightest fall colour which was yellow then I went to my second lightest and brightest colour which was orange I went and covered the bottom two petals of the leaf then at the edges of the bottom to petals in red then I covered the rest of the leaf except the tip of the top leaf and I am going to colour that brown. I learned that do not push hard on the colourless blender while swirling because it won't turn out well ( I ended up having a little rip at the bottom of the page) I know the girl in the said to push hard, but DO NOT do it when you're blending or swirling. For the grade 7 bake sale I am planning on baking Cranberry Hootie Creak which is has oats, flour, sugar, cranberries, white chocolate chips, and why will make some gluten free and nut free. Bye :)

I learned that going over the other color works so if I'm trying to blend two colors I would take one and staring over it with the other one. Pushing hard on the colors ruins the whole beauty of shading. I am not sure yet but I'm thinking about cupcake and maybe cookies. Bye!

I tried blending different shades of the same colors and it was very tricky at first but I got the hang of it. I learned that blending different shades of the same colors works to create a realistic image.

I tried blending using the white pencil crayon rather than my finger. I learned that it was a lot harder than it looked.

Something that I learned was to use dark to light colours, the rest of the the stuff we learned today I already knew from last year when we did art. What I learned while I was drawing was that when you use the white pencil crayon it makes everything more blended and nicer. I am so, so, so excited for the bake sale thing! I am going to make cupcakes( you might of already saw it because I brought them to school) it is chocolate flavoured and the icing has three color swirled together and I think it looks really cool. It said that everything at shopping night is Christmas themed so I might make the three colours red, green, and white for Christmas colours. Bye see everyone tomorrow!
