Unfortunately, there was an incident involving a student filming without permission. An email has been sent home to parents about it. As of today, students will not be allowed to use their cell phones during school hours for any reason until further notice. I learned that if you disobey the rules there will be major consequences. Now I know to be more careful with things I've been told to do and not to do and to take them seriously. I wouldn't think that the student would get suspended. I would expect at least there to be a strict warning. But then again we, as grade sevens, should know better not to bring out our personal devices during class. Bye!

The main lesson is that if you are disrespectful or inconsiderate there will be consequences. The person was being disrespectful and people who could not be filmed probably were and now some people could be sad and embarrassed.

I learned that even if you do tiny little mistakes it can give you huge consequences and that it's easy to find someone so you better be very careful on social media, but I also think that the student that filmed without permission made a bad choice but I mean is all of that punishment necessary just for that mistake?

I learned that you should not have your personal device out at school especially when you are showing other people on camera that don't know about it. I also learnt that you should never disobey the rules for school because it can get you in a lot of trouble.

The main message I learned today is to never disrupt your learning from something small or distractive like a personal device. If you disrupt your learning by using personal device without permission then there will be consequences or maybe even suspension from school.

I learned that if there are new apps or new updates many people will use the app wrong and will probably insult the person they are recording or making fun of. I also learned that you can get suspended in elementary.

I learned that not to use your personal devices when your at school and that there will be a huge punishment if you do. And these things could be very strict I don't think anyone is going to bring there phones anymore because you have to put it in a locked up closet?!?! Why would you bring them the only thing it would be useful for is someone to get a new phone by stealing one I think instead of even bring it to school you should just keep it home. I think part of that idea is really stupid and pretty careless. Bye

I learned that there are consequences when you don't follow the rules. Also that you should have a pretend name on stuff not your real name. I don't know why someone would live stream during things when people don't know about it or if people don't want to be on the internet and that you are not helping you learn new things at ALL. I think it is good that some social media have privacy thinks you can do or they bann accounts that are being mean and the content in the profile is not ok.

I learned that you should only have your phone out when you are allowed and you have to know who is not allowed in photos before taking a photo of them in it, that you should not disobey the school rules because not only you will have to pay for what you have done.I think the person wasn't thinking about the situation that he or she would be in if he got caught, I think that you shouldn't have your phones out during school hours but you do it because you think that it is cool to have it out. I think that if you were to have your phone out you would have to ask the teacher first and if he or she says yes then you are allowed to have it out. Over all the situation is quite weird ( don't know how to put ) because sometimes people have there parents text them or call them during school and sometimes it might be very important like what if one of your family members got in to an accident and got severely hurt or something like that, but I also agree with putting our personal devices in a box and putting it in a locked up cupboard because sometimes people do use their phones during school and the teachers don't really know what they're doing. This was a very serious discussion to some people but to me this was just like a normal discussion.Bye, see you tomorrow.

I learned that often people might not feel comfortable if they are getting filmed, and so it is up to us not to make them uncomfortable by putting our devices away. We shouldn't be disturbing anyone's privacy or comfort by taking videos. If we do take videos, they should be taken with permission. Certain people are comfortable being videoed than others. And, there are consequences. It's best to stay away from trouble and keep your devices away rather than to make people uncomfortable, get into trouble, and have your device taken away. As much as I feel bad for whoever got suspended, I feel like it is their responsibility to be wise and careful with their devices. It is a privilege just to have devices in the first place. We are lucky that all this while we were allowed to use them, and so to own it up we need to be responsible and not do anything that can break someone's trust or take away your phone. Okay, bye!

I learned that you should ask permission before you do something even if it is just a simple thing. I also learned that you should never film or make fun of someone online because it is rude and it could come back to you.

I learned that this problem is serious. Just before, in french class, I thought teachers were overprotecting, but after we had the conversation, I realized how I was thinking somethig wrong.
