My statistic is: 1 Billion Children Live In Poverty. What this makes me think about? There are 5 billion people in the world but if there is 1 billion children living in poverty that means that is 1 fifth of the worlds children living in poverty and there is still adults living in poverty and it also makes me think about how lucky we are to have a home when these kids are living on the street with no cell phone or toys or even food! How does this make me feel? This makes me feel sad because like i said we have all these luxurious things when they have nothing maybe some clothes, some money, and some food but thats all they have when we have a TV and a bed and a video game console. What connections can you make? I've heard that some kids have to get breakfast at school because they can't afford it or they don't have enough. Well see y'all tomorrow!

My statistic is: More then half the world lives on less than $2.50 a day. This makes me think about people only getting one small meal a day and wearing the same clothes over and over again. This makes me feel sad because they must be so hungry and they probably wouldn't have good shelter. They could also starve. A connection I have is when I drive through Vancouver there are a lot of people living on the streets begging for money and food.

One statistic is people getting paid less than $10 per day. What this makes me think about? This makes me think why can't everyone who works get paid the same amount of money? How does this make me feel? This makes me feel really sad/bad ,because what if you were in the shoes of someone else who is dealing with this problem? You don't get paid enough ,you have to live on less than $10 which you can barely buy any food to eat. Also if you go to a store ,and you want to buy a sandwich for example it might cost $6.50 ,and it could be really expensive for a person that's poor so they could go to another store ,and see a chocolate bar for 99 cents so someone that's poor has to pick the chocolate bar ,because it is cheaper than the sandwich.point is that healthy foods are to expensive for poor people). (no connections)

My statistic was 14 percent of children living in poverty don't get good education. What this makes me think about? This makes me think that why isn't the government doing anything to help the kids in poverty? This made me feel really sad/upset that the kids in poverty are not getting their basic needs met. They are also not getting good education, and the maybe not the perfect environment at school to study. A connection I have is some people and kids live on food banks, and we donate canned food every year.

My statistic was •3.1 million households pay more than 30% of their income on housing making them housing insecure, and 150,000 – 300,000 are visibly homeless, while 450,000 – 900,000 Canadians represent the ‘hidden’ homeless. This statistic makes me feel mad because I think part of poverty is the governments fault he should not be doing this because a lot of families are going into to poverty by paying more than they should be for their homes. That's really not fair because a lot of families are losing money then eventually they won't make anymore and go into absolute poverty. This makes me feel sad and a bit annoyed because a lot of families are losing their homes and are starting to live on the streets it could even be us one day. And a bit annoyed because its not really fair that the government does this to people and not even feel bad!! And some connections I have are.. My friend had lost their home because her dad lost his job and couldn't afford to stay in their house so now I don't know where they are.

My statistic was: Almost half the world over three billion people live on less than $2.50 a day! This statistic makes me think about all the family's that don't have enough money to go out and buy them selves food because they don't even have $2.50. They have enough money to go and get junk because a chocolate bar from the dollar store is 77 cents but a healthy ceasar salad from save on foods is $5.00 so they can only buy junk food and that's why so many people are getting obese because they don't have enough money to buy something healthy. It makes me feel sad that when people eat there dinner and the get full so they just throw it in the garbage and these people don't even have enough to go buy them selves a healthy dinner so don't waste your food cause some people don't even have any food at all! I can make a connection because sometimes I throw out my food when I get full and then I say to myself why did I do that someone out there that doesn't have any food could of ate that but I already threw it out. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR FOOD!

1 billion children worldwide are living in poverty. 22,000 children die each day due to poverty. This makes me feel sad because they can't have their basic needs met because of poverty. This makes me think about why can't all people help the people living in poverty.

My statistic is : 2.2 Billion children live in poverty right now. This makes me think that alot of children live with barely enough money for food or water. This also makes me a little mad because the government should be doing something to help these kids.

My topic is more than 660 million people without sanitation live on less than 2$ A day and more than 385 million on less than 1$ A day: I think about us being able to go and wash there hands but they cant because they don't have a sink or anything they only have a super small amount of money and can only spend it on food. I feel bad for those people who can't get clean or anything. I don't have a lot of connections but I might be able to think of 1 connection: if we are sad or just need/ want a shower we can have one but if they want to have one they just can't

My poverty statistics are that 805 million people worldwide do not have enough food to eat. https://www. do something.org/facts/11-facts-about-global-poverty . This makes me think about, why aren't they getting their basic needs? How can we prevent this? What can we do about this? I think a big part of this is because overpopulation. There's just not enough food to go around for all of us. I hope these statistics lower soon, but I know they are just going to get higher. I feel sad that some people are starving to death just because they can't earn enough money for it. I am so happy I have the life that I have, but I can't imagine what it feels like to be in that position. I hope there is better future for those people. However I don't really have connections to this problem. If I get hungry, I can go to my fridge, and get something to eat or drink. A lot of people don't have that opportunity. So I can't possibly feel what they are feeling.

My statistic is that 22,000 children die each day because of poverty! this makes me think that people who don't live in poverty don't think about how many people that really is while actually how many children that is. think about all the children that die every day due to poverty, but then that makes me think that those are just children that die everyday what about the adults they would die and that is a lot of people living in poverty dyeing. that would be like 50,000 people dyeing each day maybe even more. I don't really have a connection other than that when you see children on t.v in poverty you don't think that they would die you would think they could fight or something but they cant, they don't have food, a shelter or clothes ,or anything most people you know do.

my statistic is that over 3 billion people live on less than $2.50 a day. This does not make me feel very good because I feel like that person could be me or someone I know. Also living on 2.50 could get you maybe breakfast and dinner and it would be small. This statistic makes me think about how I am very lucky to have a roof over my head and money in my pocket. The connection I have is that we have a toonie drive each year sometimes twice a year, It reminds me how I help the people who only have 2.50 to have more money for dinner.

Wow that is a lot of poeple that live in poverty over 1 billion. It make me think about why well how did they start out and ending up in poverty. I bet over half of them live on the sides of the streets. I fell like Mabey if everybody will just give up some money like about $5 that will make there day if you see someone just siting on the side of the street just $5. I feel sad when I see people with not a lot of money i don't get how they even eat food and drink stay warm at night.

Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book, or sign their names. This statistic makes me think about how the government should do more to help educate these people. It makes me feel sad because a lot of kids that have the privilege to go to school, just don't want to be there. My connection is that my dad is living in poverty.

My statistic is: close to 80% of people that work get payed 10$ or less every day, so that means that 20% of people get payed the right amount of money. What does this make me think about? This makes me think about how many children get forced into poverty because their parents don't get payed enough money to pay for bills, food and all sorts of things. what does this make me feel, Explain? This make me feel that people should be payed more then 10$ or less because they still are working for their community. This also makes me feel scared that In a few years could I go into poverty or could any of my friends. Comments or Questions? What would happen if the 80% changed into 50%, would people start to get payed less because there are more employees? Or will it help are community and save peoples lives? How would people that live in absolute poverty get back to having a normal life? Can this change in the next few year? That's all I got I'll hope to see you all at school. B-)
