Remember: *Donation items for our 'Sister School' family. Due by this Friday, December 9th. See blue notice. Homework: Language Arts: Numeracy: Post a comment telling how many squares you see on the left. Look carefully! Take your time analyzing the picture. If it only took a quick glance, why would your teacher bother to post it? She wouldn't! Also, don't copy others; you may have a different, and better answer. Science: ADST (Applied Design & Skills Technology): Go to this 'Hour of Code' site, spend five minutes (tops) on a few games, and decide on which game you would like to play tomorrow in class. |

There is fourteen because the picture makes you believe that there is only eight or ten. If you don't take a good look then you might get a number like eight or ten.

I see fourteen squares. I can't really say much more about the squares because it would be like giving away the answer, so instead I'll talk about my day. It was mostly a pretty good day for me. I'm so happy it snowed today, because I haven't seen somewhat heavy snow since 3 years ago. The last time it snowed, I was in India, so I'm glad I'm not missing it this time. I had lots of fun in the snow, even though I only got to get out a couple of times. More than playing in the snow, I love to sit be a quiet windowsill and watch snowflakes blanket the ground. It's so beautiful. I did that during art/math today for a bit, and it was very relaxing and peaceful. I sort of zoned out because of the mesmerizing snow. I hope it will continue to snow in the coming days, because I love snow very, very much. Okay, bye!

There is a total of ten because there is four in each coner, there are squares in the middle and the four squares in the middle make a bigger square aswell and the perimiter makes a square aswell.

It took me a while but I came up with a total of ten squares. I will not give the answer away but I admit on my first glance I only saw eight.

I see 18 squares. You have to count all the big squares and little squares. They overlap each other, but they are still squares.

I see 10 squares because there are 4 in the middle 4 on the sides, so far we have 8. The whole thing is a square and the 4 squares in the middle makes a bigger square. So, 4 on the sides, + 4 in the middle, + the whole thing, + the 4 squares together which makes a bigger square= 10. 4+4+1+1= 10.

Also, one more thing, isn't a rectangle a type of square?

There are eight squares, but I can see how people got the squares mixed up with the rectangles. Byeee.

10 squares there are four in the middle and four on the outside then the outside is a square and the centre squares make another square so there is 10 in total.

I see 8 because some of them aren't squares when you look close enough and the rest are rectangles?

I actually think there is fourteen because there's 4 in the middle and 4 on the sides and then there's rectangles left over and then divide them and you get 14. I just realized this

I love these kind of mind boggling type of "visual question". I don't know how to put it. In total I see 18 squares. Bye!

First I thought 14 but then I looked again and realized that some of them look like rectangles so now I see 10.
