We got to listen to author, Lynda Mullaly Hunt, answer questions from students around the world about how and why she wrote 'One For The Murphys'. It was super interesting to learn that her early life story is much like Carley's. She left us with the message, "No matter what hand you've been dealt in life, you can overcome it and be whoever you want to be." Click here if you would like to watch the interview again. Homework: Math: Time yourself; how fast can you complete this Estimating Decimals practice? Grade 6 - p. 320 #10-15; Grade 7 - Do corrections, then have your parents sign, then return your Math test. We go over multiplying decimals Monday, with a re-test Tuesday. Science: We did Experiment #4 today with combined powders. You really had to use your knowledge from the first three experiments to deduce what the mixtures were. Consider what powders you would like to use for Experiment #6. They should be from your kitchen e.g. edible. Put them in baggies with your name on them. Technology: Upload the photo of your 'Leaf Print-Making' and 'Animal Art' to your website. Give each a title. |

I really loved the interview! I am really excited for when her new book comes out. I had a good weekend, I finished Half-Blood Prince and, I am almost done City of Ember. I also have some very fun powders to experiment with. My mom had her 45th birthday! We put up a bunch of christmas decorations and me and Zoë got her a new travel mug. Well I better go do my homework and read.
