I think we watched the movie 'Freedom Writers' for our education and to learn more about racisms and maybe a little more about the Holocaust. I learned that you don't hate a person who just 'looks' different from your point of view. You have to change and open your mind and be friends together. Also, you can't just leave a student or friend or person who has no mom, dad, both, or all family members. You have to encourage them, give them hope. That includes all three topics which is power of family(because you're becoming a sort of family with him/her), hope, and courage(encouraging). I think it really help me understand the feelings of Holocaust's people, or people who lost their families. Thanks for showing that movie mrs. Van, and I want the book 'Freedom Writers' so bad!

I think we watch it to learn about racism and that making gangs doesn't work to be free like Hitler did and also to learned to respect others even tho there in different culture. And I think we learned how gangster life is and how hard it was to have no parents or family to be with. I also learned how there teacher never give up making the students to have higher grades and she never give up of working to make the students change there miserable life. I learned how the teacher really loved the students that to her its like the students are her family.

I think we watched it because of racism and that being racist isn't going to solve problems. Also that threatening people and hurting people isn't the right way to deal with things. I learned that if you try you can achieve. Just like the teacher did every one doubted her and thought she couldn't make the kids want an education. But hey look what she did brought all the kids grades up. Taught them that there is more to life than fighting. She made them realize theirs other things to life.

I think we watched the movie today because since we were learning about the holocaust the movie had some stuff about the holocaust and persecution. I learned that we should be very luck for the safety etc. that we have today. I also learned that education is important and we are very lucky to be able to go to school and learn lots! Bye, see everyone on Tuesday!

I think you wanted to show us the movie 'Freedom Writers' because it was based on persecution and around what we have learned about the Holocaust, that we have to think about the others who have suffered way worse than what we might have expected. I learned that each person has their own story behind them and that you cant't just judge each other from what you think they've been through. Have a great long weekend everybody! Bye!

I loved that movie it was really good! I think we watched that movie because it relates to the topic we are doing in class and it kind of shows us what could be happening in other places! I learned lot! I think the best thing I learned from the movie was a little love can go a long way. Mrs.G gave more than a little love but that's the best thing I could say to explain what I meant.

Hi! I think we watched it today because of the racism and that ties in with WWII! WWII really just started with racism just like in this movie! I learned that one you can accomplish anything in life if you just stick to it! Like what Mrs.G did to keep the students together! Also that its not that great to join a gang! Well, see you all tomorrow! Bye for now...

I think that we watched 'Freedom Writers' because we were learning about the holocaust and the movie had a bunch of stuff about the holocaust in it. I learned that there is a lot of hatred between a lot of different people. I already knew that there was hatred between people, but I didn't think that it would end up affecting people so much. See you all on Tuesday.

I liked the movie because it shows that people can change and that these's kids tried hard to change. I learned that if you put in the time to help someone they will put in the time to learn. But they wont learn anything unless they want to.

I think we watched the movie because it was mostly about racism, which is was started the Holocaust. I learned that there are many things happening in the world right now that we have no idea about. If things like gang fighter spread farther, imagine what Surrey would be like. It would be almost as scary as Long Beach was! I think this was a really good movie, though it was really hard to watch the class suffer for something that they probably didn't do.

I think we watched Freedom Writers because it shows that one person can change a whole class of people and that everyone has good in them. It also shows that everyone has been through at least the same thing and that you will never be the only one who has done something or something has happened to you. I learned that so many people today is going through so much in there life and just because we have a grateful life doesn't mean we ignore people who need help. Just like the teacher. She stood out of her box to help her class achieve and face things they've never done. See you all tomorrow.

I think we watched the movie because it had racism and racism can cause bad things such as a holocaust. I learned that there are more terrifying things in the world that we don't know about.

I think we watched freedom writers because it shows how we shouldn't judge people on what raise they are and that if you put your mind to something one person can change whole class about there thinking of other people. I learned that we should be greatfull for the safe life we have now and the love from our family because some parents wouldn't even let their own children in their house.

I think you showed us Freedom Writers because it's based on persecution. In this this case the white people were looking down on the black people, and it relates on how the Germans were looking down on the Jews. I learned not to judge people just on the colour of their skin, or religion. Just because a person is black doesn't mean that the person is bad. See you all tommorrow.

I think we watched Freedom Writers on Friday because it show how racism can kill people and that it can change in an instant. I learned that you should treat others the way you want to be treated and not treat others different because they are different. See you all later! :D

I think we watched Freedom Writers to see what racism can do, how a small funny drawing, if not stopped, may be the reason for something like a new Holocaust. This movie really showed me how we should accept the races of everyone and that we shouldn't even care in the first place. I learned a lot from watching Freedom Writers. I learned that one person can make a huge difference. Actually, anyone can take the time to do so, but through this movie I learned all of what it takes. The teacher went through so, so much trouble to teach the students about the Holocaust in order to make them better people, and just to do that (I mean, of course it is a big deal), she lost a lot of precious things. While I feel bad for her, I really think she was brave and I'm very proud to live in a world with people like her. I also learned that there is that little bit of good in everyone, and when you bring it out, it grows and grows. If you look towards the beginning, the students (sorry, students) were so horrible and racist, but if you fast-forward it to end, they seem like totally different people. Anyone can do that, really. Okay, bye!

I thin we watched freedom writers today because it showed how different people (different colored skin) react to someone who's appearance or beliefs are different from theirs. I learned that sometimes parents don't love their children as much as ours do and that sometimes we should try to include different people in what we do so no one will fell left out. Bye!
