Parent drivers for Monday's curling field trip should be at school at 9:45 am. That is a change from the note that was stapled in the planners! Wear warm, loose, stretchy clothing, dress in layers (light jacket, sweater etc.), and bring a pair of gloves for curling on Monday morning. Homework: Language Arts: As usual, read for at least 20 mins. Gratitude Journal: Five things you are grateful for. Leave a comment: Tell about your 'Little Bits' moving creation. |

What do you get when you mix "This is such a good idea", "Oh my goodness, it's not working!", and "Let's try doing this instead"? You get a creation that was once meant to be helicopter, slowly transformed into a windmill, lasted for two seconds as a flightless rocket, and turned itself into a spinning submarine. This submarine is the invention of Itzme.eg and I. I guess it's not really an invention because submarines were already invented, but this is more like a moving model of how it looks with LittleBits, TP rolls, mounds of tape, and a tissue box. I'm proud of our little submarine. It doesn't have much to look at, but it's such a neat idea. More than the submarine itself, I am proud of how Itzme.eg and I found out our (helicopter) doesn't work, and instead of giving up we turned our (helicopter) into something totally different and unique at the same time. Okay, bye!

We made a 6 second stopwatch, we tried to make a 5 second one but the timing was off so we made a 6 second one. It was fun building it and we worked hard and well on it.

I can't tell you how it went since I wasn't there but I can tell you what we were going to make. Me and my group were going to make a moving Ferris wheel and I wonder how it turned out. Bye!

We made a fan that actually worked out. It looks really cool to but it did not make any cold air.

My group and I started by making a motion censored air blowing ballon roller coaster but it totally failed and it just was flat out not working, we didn't give up and came up with a new idea, we made a spinning 'flag'. We put a straw onto the peice of little bits that spin and put a tissue on the top and kind of, not really drew our flag on the tissue. When you hit the button the flag spinner around and it looked cool!

Our creation could draw when it was pulled by the little bits DC motor. It would spin and wind up the string it was attached to.

I had fun doing the little bits. Our invention didn't work. It fell apart almost every time we tried to do something with it. It was originally going to be a Car then a Zamboni but then it turned into a crane that pulls something up and at the same time puts something down. Then it turned into a incline that pull something up. THEN it turned into a thing that spins around and draws. Finally it turned into a weird truck with a catapult and it draws. It turned out nothing like the original blue prints. At the end if you saw it you probably wouldn't think it would work. But it did work somehow. we had the drawing idea and the car idea in one.

My group tried to make a "Magic Toaster", but we failed on making the toast pop up because we didn't have the proper spring. Other than that our toaster was really good.

My group Madeline a garage door that actually opened we built the frame around the garage out of lego then used the spinner from the little bits and attached it to the top of the lego after that we tied a string to the spiner and a piece of cardboard so when we pressed a button the cardboard went up.

Me and Alex were going to do a Farris wheel but we didn't know how to stand it up so we decided to make a Mari go round. I think it turned out great and we worked good together.

Well, we had lots of trial and error but with hard work and dedication we finally came up with a design that was successful. I had loads of fun creating a submarine with a moving propeller. There was 'LittleBits' of frustration (mostly from me) but in the end, using lots of patience, TwinkleToe and I created a unique submarine! Bye!

My group made a garage door that actually works. We made the door go up by having string attached to the spinner from the little bits and the string was also attached to a piece of cardboard and, when we pressed a button the string would wrap around the spinner and the cardboard would go up simulating a garage door.

For our little bits project we were going to make a toaster, but it didn't turn out like that. there were a few parts that we had not thought over well enough and we had to do an emergency comprise. We still made a toaster but it was not how we thought it would turn out.

I made a Magic Toaster in my group! It turned out not as expected but still very cute. Maybe next time we could use proper springs and it would properly bounce.
